Radiation dosimetry in the April SPR’s Study Group

On April 6, the SPR Radiological Protection Study Group was held. The topic addressed was radiation dosimetry. The meeting was attended by the following participants:

  • Yvone Mascarenhas, M.D., who has a masters and doctorate from the University of São Paulo, a member of the Brazilian Association of Medical Physics, director and physicist responsible for the dosimetry of Sapra Landauer (a company with over 40 years of experience in the area of radiological protection and responsible for introduction of OSL dosimetry in Brazil). She talked about how OSL dosimetry became known and that her main objective is to increase the safety of users’ dose assessment;
  • Maria de Fátima Magon, M.D., physicist and doctor graduated from the University of São Paulo, with a masters degree in engineering from California (USA). She talked about high dose, addressing dose limits, reference levels, individual monitoring and high dose procedures.
